Short description of the course
This seminar focuses on how the use of information technology can help or constrain the process of rigorous qualitative analysis of data. We will focus on the interpretive-type of qualitative research, based on the hermeneutic interpretation of data as a quest for meaningful, and empirically valid, abstract categories and their relationships. This is a hands-on workshop. You will apply the coding techniques using a software as a requirement for the course. This seminar is intended for researchers with any experience level in qualitative research.

Students of the FGV EAESP Master’s and Doctoral Program in Business Administration or in Public Administration and Government, the credits earned will count toward the credits required in the following Concentration Areas:
• Administration, Analysis and Information Technology
• Corporate Strategy
• Marketing Strategies
• Government and Civil Society at the Local and State Levels
 

The expected students' profile to attend the course and previous knowledge required:
The course is open to any student, but graduate students pursuing qualitative research projects will benefit more from this seminar.

Targeted audience: MSc and PhD students, professors and researchers from FGV and other Institutions.
