Short description of the course 
This course examines the links between organisational change, business strategies, technological innovation and projects. It introduces the foundations of project management, governance and control, contracting and relationships, organizing and learning, and responding to changing environments. The focus is on how innovative technologies are managed and their consequences in terms of success and failure of implementation and use of technological systems in organizations. Example topics of study include: business transformation and projects as a mode of organizing; strategy formation; project management approaches and techniques; business process analysis; change management; understanding the dynamics and relations involved in IT-enabled business transformation; disruptive technologies; project escalation; systems and organizational aspects of IT and technological issues. Managerial and sociological approaches are used to analyze a range of real-life case studies.

Students of the FGV EAESP Master’s and Doctoral Program in Business Administration or in Public Administration and Government, the credits earned will count toward the credits required in the following Concentration Areas:
• Administration, Analysis and Information Technology

• Competitiveness in Management - Doctoral Program
• Government and Civil Society at the Local and State Levels 

The expected students' profile to attend the course and previous knowledge required: MSc and PhD students, with some prior business/management education.

Targeted audience: MSc and PhD students, professors and researchers from FGV and other Institutions.
